um yeah

I've made the most use of this blog. Yikes. I've had so much to write about but have I done it? That would be a resounding no. I've recently rediscovered the library and I've been buried in books for the boy and me as well as a couple of knitting projects. I've just completed my first knitted dish cloth. Well, I say completed but the truth is I need help with the last row to "tie it off." I forgot the actual terminology for "tying it off." I assure you it is not "tying it off" though.

I'm also done with my time off from my last job. I took a seasonal overnight job thinking that would be a great way to work, earn income, and not have to put the boy in daycare. It was okay and great in theory but I'm so glad it's over. My next job starts next week. Thanks to a great girl I met at the overnight job, I got a lead for a work-at-home job that isn't a scam. I'm very excited and very nervous. Training starts next week at the office far, far away. It's a bit of a drive. I haven't had worse commutes but I have had commutes just as bad. Fortunately, I'll be going in at off times (from rush hour) for training and I only go for 3 days. Then I have to report in once a week to drop off and pick up my work. After 100 hours or so, I only have to go in every other week. I've also completed a couple of other assignments out and about but I won't be specific so I can maintain my anonymity.

I've just read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close which I can highly recommend. I will be excited to start his first novel, Everything is Illuminated. I started Hitchhiker, the biography of Douglas Adams last night. I had a revelation last night while reading it about some of his fans that ties back to when I saw and met him at my college years ago. I won't share it yet.

As for my current projects, I would like to knit another dish cloth before starting a scarf. I'm working on my home office by finishing the walls, furniture, and some kind of temporary flooring. I'm also trying to clean and organize the garage. That's been very overwhelming. Although, once I finish the office furniture, the garage will be that much freeer (more free?).

a new blog

So I've started a new blog. Everything to do with living life. That's what this blog is all about. I'm always pondering how to make life more enjoyable and fulfilled. I haven't found a job I've really liked until recently when I gave birth to my son. I love being a mother and in addition, I love doing odd jobs to entertain me and bring in more money. There's so many things I want to do, learn, and accomplish so I will research and learn as I'm writing about it from time to time. I've defined some areas in life on the sidebar that I'm particularly interested in. I'll define some of those interests here...

Life- breathing is living and doing is being
Create- projects, garden, knitting, sewing
Home- home projects, repairs, design
Health- fitness in general, eating wisely
Food- cooking as well as the joy of eating
Finances- Living frugally, comfortably, and well below my means
Music- finding, creating on my flute, listening, enjoying
Raising Baby Boy- giving needed energy to raising an independent, self-assured, helpful, productive, polite, and talented man.
